Badgers - Gophers Volleyball

I would like to introduce Volleyball to the Blog.

Elizabeth and I joined Glenn, his daughter Evelyn, and his brother Andrew at the Sports Pavilion for a few sets of Big Ten Volleyball.

Badgers at Gophers

Another year, another win over the Gophers. This time 42-13 at TCF Stadium (I forgot to take a picture of the scoreboard).

With a 2:30 start, there was plenty of time for pre-game activities.

Day started off with Glenn and I enjoying a few drinks at Sally's

After Lunch at Wings, it was off to a few tailgates.

At the first tailgate, someone came by with a mini-axe.

Um.....ok

At the second tailgate there was a game where you threw darts at a beer can. Looks like an excuse to get a dart in a bad spot.

Matt, Glenn, and I at the second tailgate.

A full size replica axe.

After the tailgates, it was off to the game.

Badgers took an early 21 - 0 lead. Glenn not happy.

Russell Wilson and the team in the 4th quarter from the 5th row 50 yard line seat we moved down to.

Smile Glenn, you almost beat the 27.5 spread.

Badgers vs. Hoosiers

Another week, another easy win by Bucky. This time the Hoosiers got smoked as our Homecoming opponent.

Onto the pictures.

Welcome a new feature on the Blog. Religious freaks.

Badgers vs. Nebraska

Big Day in Madison! Nebraska's first B1G game, Gameday in town, and Bucky got a huge win!

(Also, Brewers won the first NLDS game over the Diamondbacks)

Picture time.

After Gameday (where Corso picked Nebraska for some reason), it was off to Wings for 5 hours of eating, drinking, and Brewers watching.

Welcome to the B1G, Nebraska.

Lots of "Blackshirts" about to watch their team get shelled.

2011 Football Week 2: Oregon State

Elizabeth finally made it into Camp Randall for a Badgers game. Valerie and her sat in our seats, while I sat with Rick in mid-Section B. Fortunately the game was another blow-out, so E and Valerie were able to join us in the middle of the 4th quarter.

Picture time.

Elizabeth too interested in everything happening on the field to look into the camera.

View from Section B. Russell Wilson, Toooooon and others in the huddle.

A different scoreboard, but a similar result.

2011 Football Week 1: UNLV

This game included easily the most bizarre pre-game tailgate, followed by Russell Wilson's first game as a Badger.

An easy win by Bucky, even though they didn't cover due to the new kickers missed extra point. Good choice by me not having Valerie place that bet while she was out in Vegas.

Onto the pictures:

The new BW3 had a Ron Dayne Heisman. Not sure how many of these there are out there, or specifically why one was at a BW3.

On the way to the Tailgate, was reminded of the fun that Wisconsin has been going through the past year.

So the tailgate included a grill without any lighter fluid, so the grill was trying to be started by burning someone's Thesis. Needless to say, the fire was never started.

Also, a guest asked if it was ok if she rolled...

Fortunately, they had Spotted Cow

Wow, that's a big flag.

Wow, that's a big dude.

2011 Rose Bowl

The Rose Bowl is long over, and looking back, I am not terribly crushed by the loss. TCU was a very good team and if Wisconsin brought their A game, they would have won.

Oh well. Picture time.

Tickets for the long day.

Stealth Bombers in flight are pretty tough to take a picture of.

Badgers had a long way to march down the field.

Final Score. Stupid 2-point conversion from the shot gun.

Elizabeth didn't take the loss well, but a trip to Disneyland the next day put a smile on her face.
